Position Overview The Ranch Manager is responsible for overseeing daily ranch operations and ensuring the property is managed efficiently and effectively. This role requires strong technical proficiency, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple aspects of property maintenance while maintaining a high level of trust, communication, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Property Oversight

    • Manage and maintain all aspects of ranch operations, ensuring the property  is in excellent condition and operating efficiently.

    • Oversee ranch infrastructure, systems, and resources to ensure optimal functionality and upkeep.

  2. Operations and Maintenance

    • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all ranch equipment (e.g., ATVs, Airstreams, skid steers, heavy equipment) to ensure longevity and performance.

    • Conduct regular inspections of ranch facilities, fencing, irrigation systems, and infrastructure to identify and address issues proactively.

    • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of all property structures, including barns, Airstreams, and storage areas.

    • Ensure routine servicing and repairs are completed for all vehicles and machinery.

    • Proactively oversee and coordinate groundskeeping, including tree trimming, road maintenance, and erosion control.

    • Manage storage and inventory of ranch supplies, including tools, fuel, feed, and materials.

    • Stock and maintain restroom supplies in all bathrooms across the property.

    • Ensure proper waste management and disposal procedures are followed.

  3. Vendor Management

    • Manage all vendor relationships, serving as the sole point of contact for scheduling, oversight, and performance evaluation.

    • Ensure clear and consistent communication with vendors to streamline operations, increase efficiency, and manage costs effectively.

    • Collaborate with the Estate Manager to align vendor activities with overall property goals and expectations.

  4. Landscaping Oversight

    • Supervise and coordinate the work of landscapers, ensuring all landscaping tasks are completed to the highest standard.

    • Provide direction and support as needed to maintain the aesthetic and functional integrity of the property’s outdoor spaces.

  5. Technology and Communication

    • Must be able to use and manage technology tools, including necessary applications, to track daily logs, project updates, and task completion.

    • Ensure thorough operations documentation, including logs, photos, material usage, and task tracking.

  6. Hospitality and Guest Experience

    • Ensure a first-class experience for owners and guests by maintaining the property’s appearance, functionality, and overall hospitality standards.

  7. Budget and Project Management

    • Work closely with the owners' Family Office Manager and Estate Manager to stay within budget for ranch operations and projects.

    • Provide input on financial needs, including equipment purchases and operational costs.

  8. Trust and Ownership

    • Exhibit a strong sense of ownership and pride in managing the ranch.

    • Ensure that all operations align with the owners' vision and expectations.

Qualifications

  • Ranch Experience: 2 years minimum experience required. Proven experience managing ranches or similar properties, with a deep understanding of ranch operations and equipment.

  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using technology for task management, communication, and reporting. 

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with English proficiency required. Spanish proficiency is strongly preferred to facilitate communication with all staff.

  • Trustworthiness: A demonstrated history of reliability, integrity, and discretion. References will be strongly considered. 

  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and address unforeseen challenges effectively.

Compensation:

  • $40 - $50 / hour depending on experience

Schedule:

  • This position typically works Monday through Thursday, 8 hours per day, with

occasional Fridays as needed. The weekly hours generally range from 32 to 40, depending on

operational requirements.

  • The Ranch Manager is not required to live on-site but must be available for emergencies or unexpected needs.
